City Science Lab @ Shanghai in collaboration with MIT Media Lab harbors the aspiration of transforming insights and techniques originated from MIT Media Lab into remarkably innovative values in China. This lab gathers research scientists, urban designers, and entrepreneurs to create sustainable, livable, and entrepreneurial communities by leveraging quantitative simulations and analysis beyond the urban interface.

Ke Ma, a full-time researcher, collaborates with scientists and developers from MIT Media Lab and D&I on every research projects and events. He has been contributing the expertises of defining research proposals, developing data analysis and visualization, shaping tangible user interfaces, and deploying hardware and alternative techniques to diverse research questions.

This urban research delegates to leverage quantitative methods to aggregate and analyze data captured from Wi-Fi probes, HD camera, mobile apps and urban intervention to unveil the patterns and corelations beyond Living lane.

City Science Summit Shanghai 2018, in participation with Tongji University and the MIT Media Lab's City Science group, invites you to attend this one-day event focused on global service innovations and our cities' latest visualization tools.



We demonstrate CityScope, a tangible and digital platform, developed by City Science researchers from MIT Media Lab and Tongji University to quantify and simulate heterogenous urban interventions.
